About The Windamer

The Windamer was lovingly built in 1884 and gently converted to a Guest House in the 1940's. It is an exquisite example of Victorian architecture set majestically on oceanfront property in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Our guest house has the look, feel and coziness of a bed and breakfast. A corner-to-corner property with decks on two levels, The Windamer overlooks the ocean and provides spectacular views from every window. Windamer guests enjoy Weber grills and outdoor dining tables for barbecuing and picnicking with friends and families.

Our four apartments vary in size, sleeping from three to eight people. Each offer ocean views, full kitchens and private baths and use of a deck that provides ocean views. In addition, all bedrooms are air-conditioned. Two weekly beach badges are complimentary for each room. Wireless internet, washer and dryer are available on the premises. We encourage you to visit each of the rooms below to view pictures and provide you with exact bedding and accommodation. Each room has been freshly re-decorated to add fun, comfort, sophistication and elegance to your Windamer experience. We encourage you to browse our website to see the layout of each suite to help you decide what accommodation is best for you! We offer weekly summer rentals from June through late September, and winter rentals from September through May. (Eight month leases).

Our Victorian home fits on a large piece of property, which provides a generous lawn space for guests to enjoy! There are Weber grills and picnic tables for your convenience.

Known as "The Jewel of the Jersey Shore," Ocean Grove has the highest concentration of authentic Victorian architecture in the country. This national historic treasure offers one square mile of natural beauty including pristine beaches, tree-lined streets, a serene boardwalk, parks, music, and lecture programs. Try our unique eateries and shop at our quaint "downtown" shopping district; all this only an hour's drive from Manhattan and Philadelphia! We both look forward to seeing our old friends, and making new ones this season!

Why would you stay anywhere else in Ocean Grove? The Windamer (Sally's House!) has the best location, the best landlady, the best property, the best amenities and the best apartments for rent in town! I've been renting with her in the off-season (late fall/winter/spring) for years and the Windamer is truly My Happy Place. Go to sleep with the sound of the waves. Wake up to ocean light. Cross the street to the beach. Spend your time in a quaint, whimsical, incredibly comfortable apartment equipped with everything you could possibly need. The house is quiet and friendly in tone, so relaxing! The front and side porches of the house are ample and welcoming. Picnic tables, landscaping, beach bikes, barbecue grills and great parking! Plus Sally! Sally is the Icing on this Gingerbread House. If you wind your way to the Windamer, you won't believe how lucky you are--I know that's how I feel.

This is the best rental property in Ocean Grove. The owner, Sally, makes you feel at home and treats you like family. Spacious lawns and unique architecture, on an oceanfront property with a wraparound porch and balcony. Our family has been coming here for years.

This is my 5th year staying the week before 4th of July weekend. I love Ocean Grove and love staying at The Windamer. It faces the beach and ocean with wonderful breezes and breathtaking sunrises from every porch. Sallie, the owner, resides there and makes certain everything and anything is right for you. (Ask her to take you on a tour in her "Windamer Mobile"!) The town is beautiful: the houses are like nothing you've ever seen before - gorgeous Victorians everywhere, and the beach may be the best along the Jersey Shore.!!! The center of town, which is only 4 blocks away, has great shopping and a variety of small, delightful restaurants. I hope to be back next year!

Would give it 10 stars - Have been staying at the Beautiful Windamer for my summer vacation for nearly 15 years. The place is so clean and location you can't beat but the best is how friendly everyone is and that is because of the owner Sally. She is a beautiful person inside and out and wants you to have a wonderful time. Thank You Sally for another truly beautiful week at the Windamer. Save my place on the rocking chair on the porch I'll be back!
